MY BOSS, THE BILLIONAIRE is part of a series but a standalone read with a HEA. Book 1 is a great place to start this series but you won't feel out of touch or lost if you haven't read it yet. The story is set on the North Island, New Zealand. I love traveling in New Zealand. I have learned so much about another way of living by reading the New Zealand authors. Noah's Ark was founded by Noah thus the name. The main characters are the siblings of Three Wise Men series. All are adults, finished uni and work at the animal sanctuary. Most of the animals are rescues. No animal is turned down for care. They have vets on call with the animal hospital. For the animals recovering from surgery or injuries they have a full-blown hotel. They have a snack at night and are tucked into their own beds. There is a petting zoo as well as a grooming salon. Anything an animal could possibly want, they get. It is paradise and most will find their forever home.This story is about Leon. He studied finance at uni and he handles all the finances. He spends a lot of time seeking donations. All the characters are billionaires, thanks to their very successful parents. Very down to earth these guys do not flaunt their wealth. They could pretty much finance the establishment but Leon wants it to be self sufficient. They have 50 employees he keeps tabs on. He heads HR as well. Leon is a by the book kind of guy, there is nothing casual about him. He drives a jag and wears a $30,000 watch. That is about as much as he goes over the top. He is a great guy but bad behavior when he was 20 pretty much controls his life. It is not a positive thing.His professional assistant is Nix. She is his female equivalent . She wears a suit and heels to work every day regardless. She know what he needs and is thinking before he does. She is perfect for him in every way. There is a big problem. By the book he frowns on dating co-workers. It just will not be tolerated and as one of the owners of the company he cannot in any way date Nix. She wishes it were otherwise.Through a chain of events they wind up at a resort over the week-end, just the two of them. Lying in bed, looking through the skylight at midnight and things get a little out of the book!!! It is a wild week-end. If you find sex and colorful language this may not be the book for you. Personally I loved it. Leon is not such a stuffed shirt between the sheets!! They have some issues to work through. Both have a past they are ashamed of and need to get beyond. The whole family is rooting for them. It is a very good story and I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it. Lots of fun as well as a little drama. But things start to look up when Nix gets Leon out of that expensive suit. I'm anxious to see Noah get his HEA.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I loved this second book at Noah's Ark! This was another amazing heartwarming story that had a lot of emotion, humor, and information (sky and sea), devotion, and steaminess between Leon and Nicola. I really enjoyed the warmth and humor that all of the dogs added as well as the insight into the Women's Refuge. I can't wait to read about Albie and Remy in My Roommate, the Billionaire, and a future story about Noah!
I can always count on Serenity Woods to give me an enjoyable read.Leon is a billionaire and a hard person in the work place. Nicola is his PA but she wants more from him. The story is heartwarming sexy and interesting. I love that the author slips in so many interesting facts about the history and culture of New Zealand.
Nix(Nicola) has been attracted to her boss since she started as is PA two years ago. Unfortunately, Leon has a strict rule against work place relationships, and he shows no interest in Nix. Then Nix is knocked unconscious when one of Leon's dogs knocks her into a wall. She wakes up in a helicopter to discover that Leon is flying her to hospital. It becomes obvious that Leon has feelings for Nix, but how can he reconcile his feelings with his personal ban on workplace romances. Can Nicola convince him that a relationship wouldn't be the end of the world?This is the second book set at Noah's Arc, an animal rescue and support centre. This is a lovely tale and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to the next book in the series. You can read this book as a standalone if you haven't read the first book.I voluntarily received a copy of this ARC for review
Nicola Dixon works for a grumpy, no nonsense boss, Leon King, who is head of HR at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, and has a strict no dating colleagues at work policy, especially if they work under you. His grumpiness is really the product of his desire for his PA, Nicola. They both have a thing for each other and are finally able to explore their chemistry after a minor accident, followed by an out of town work event on Nicola’s birthday. Their getting together is worth the wait! Crazy fireworks in an unbelievable setting. Like all of Serenity Wood’s novels, there are depths to the characters and the work that they do. In the midst of the romance, she sheds light on social issues affecting women, children, and animals. In the end this is a very feel good story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story.
I really enjoyed reading My Boss, the Billionaire. Leon and Nicola have been Working together for two years now. Nicola always felt that Leon did not have any feelings for her. I love how Leon surprises Nicola for her birthday. Leon has his reasons for keeping his emotions in check, but he can not resist Nicola anymore. Their love for one another helps Leon with his past hurts. Every books Serenity Woods writes just keep getting better and better everytime. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review.
Once again I found myself really enjoying getting to know the characters in this book and reading their story. Serenity creates characters that are likeable, kind, flawed, and fully developed. I think you will like Nix and Leon and their story. As usual, I found myself wanting to visit ND and particularly the star gazing place - especially if it comes with the sexy, romantic rendezvous described! I'm loving that this series takes place at an animal rescue. Enjoy!
A fantastic follow-on from My Best Friend, the Billionaire. It is a stand-alone story but for those who read Book 1, you will love how it carries on. This follows the 2nd of the King cousins, dealing with some harsh and somewhat terrify reality topics for each of them but at the same time taking you on a fascinating ride into learning about the constellations in the sky. I learned a lot as Leon and Nicole travelled the trails to reach each other. Can’t wait for the next book.
