Letters to a Young Healer is a wonderful follow up to the Charm Carver, following the same characters at different times in their lives and filling in information alluded to in the Charm Carver. And yet it stands on it's own as a complete story and it's message of compassion and understanding can be appreciated not only by those interested in the healing arts, but by everyone.
This is a gem of a book!The tools that are given brings us on a journey of self knowing, self help, self awareness; healing and awareness is key to our growth on every level. It is absolutely an amazing book which gives a perspective that we very rarely, if ever, hear or learn about. The author is a true spiritual leader in his own right, a deep philosophical thinker, with a huge heart and warm, caring soul.
Very much enjoyed the gentle reading and study and practice of the healing process and suggestions.

I’m glad I chose it. A quick read with profound teachings. I would share this with all young ladies who are coming of age as it touches on all areas of maturity.

I'm honored to be the first to review this book as it is a small treasure. Just as he did with his previous book The Charm Carver, David again presents timeless truths in an easy to read format. The letters between a sage uncle and a young woman embarking on a healing profession touch on concepts related to healing, stretching from false healers to compassion to the end of life. David weaves into the letters guidance for personal healing - including the value of self care and mind-body practices. The book can be finished in a setting but I suspect most will do as I did - and go back and re-read sections as the teachings "soak in" after some contemplation. I have many friends (and two children) about to start their own journeys as healers - this book will be a gift to all of them.
I received this ebook through Goodreads. I love it! A niece reaches out for advice to an estranged uncle through letters. It is beautifully written and well thought out. The advice will benefit everyone. There is no preaching or judgement. Healers don't have to be shamans, doctors, or any specialized vocation. A healer can be anyone with empathy whether they are a janitor, teacher, police officer, etc. we learn and help each other. The uncle teaches her how to meditate and quiet her mind. I recommend this book to everyone, no matter your belief system.
