Absolutely necessary. Yes it is is crude, but that’s the point. There’s humor and also direct to the point.

I received an ARC of this book.I really wanted to love this book. The name alone is word play, that is my sort of title. The issue I had with the book was it was really graphic in a way that just felt low brow. I thought with a more word play title, there would have been more interesting word play in the book as well. There was a missed opportunity for the catcalls to be done by actual cats for example.The message was incredible. It is necessary. It is something I try and teach in my sex ed classes. The book just felt like it could have been better done.

It shows how to keep the sexual harassment at bay with the do’s and don’ts of socially acceptable behavior.“But the pigs wouldn’t leer, wouldn’t ogle or sniff. And they sure wouldn’t say Mike Hunt’s smell makes them stiff.”The illustrations were fun, and the story style was clever and witty. You’ll laugh at the kooky characters and the funny commentary. The language can be a little raunchy, but the images are clean and suitable for a mixed adult audience. Definitely good lessons to learn from.**This was an ARC copy for review

I am not a fan of the hidden innuendo, especially when talking about a serious topic like this, but in all honesty this book of crude poetry sort of had me smiling halfway through it. It was quirky and humorous but also right to the point. NO MEANS NO. It's not ok. No matter what. Not even once. I like that message. And for preteen girls and boys, this is just adult enough and yet still childlike enough to be approachable for all ages. I would've given 3.5 stars if possible but felt like 4 was pushing it for such a short read.I received this book as a free digital download for reviewing.

The character’s clever name (say it out loud if you don’t get it) clearly alludes to him being every woman, and his interactions with owls, bears, pigs and more, those daily situations that we women find ourselves in every day.“But a slug WOULDN’T fix it’s slug eyes on Mike’s jug,And think because Mike smiled’ that Mike owes Slug a hug!”At first, the whole of womanhood being represented by a white cis(assumedly) male character was a little off-putting but then again maybe that is a good thing. I think had the main character been feminine presenting I’m not sure the story would be as effective in getting those who need to hear the message, to read it. While being a bit heavy handed it is cleverly written and illustrated and should be mandatory reading for every college-aged student.It clearly lays out consent issues without being accusational or belittling, overall a great funny and quick read. Well, you can touch the book, just don't mess with or harass Mike Hunt! *giggle* And if you don't get it, just quit reading this and try "Pat the Bunny" instead.I thought this was a highly amusing book with a very serious message, and I loved the duality of the thing. It was made even better by being written like a children's book, with rhymes and illustrations, since perpetrators are often thinking with childlike minds!~ I am leaving this honest review in exchange for a free ARC digital copy, provided by Hidden Gems ~

Odd but funny! I love that the book is able to bring light to situations some people face on a daily basis. The author is able to put consent in simple terms and make the book a funny quick read. It may even be a good read for older teenagers. Yes, some may say it's crude for teens but kids are playing video games and watching YouTube video worse than this. At least this book has an important message, CONSENT!

I received a copy for an honest and voluntary review.Mike Hunt is a guy who is the focus of various animals who sexually have desires towards him.It certainly grossed me out, it at the end did have a valid message... y using animals it drives home the point people should have control over their actions and be respectful.
