Outstanding book! This book was recommended to me by another financial planner. After reading it, I now give a copy to each of my financial planning clients. It is written in very easy to understand stories that captivate the reader while educating him or her. This book is not intended to replace a professional attorney, but it should be read before meeting with one (I do not think the one negative reviewer understood this). As a parent, I highly recommend this book to other parents.
I am frustrated with this book. I purchased it because I thought it might be a good resource to help me prepare some legal documents. The title after-all says that it is a GUIDE to legal planning. Instead of finding step-by-step guidance, it refers the reader to various websites that appear to be connected to the author (or her affiliates). Accordingly, this appears to me to be essentially marketing material. Sites quoted in the book require you to register and provide a bunch of sensitive information (name, address, etc.) before you are given access to any forms or additional information. I did not complete the registration process on those websites, so I cannot review the content there. I did a bit more research on this author and it appears that she has numerous websites selling a variety of services/programs.In my opinion, a reader who has never thought about this topic may find this book somewhat informative. If you have, however, thought about and come to the realization that you need to plan for such matters, then you may (like I have) find this book disappointing and lacking the guidance to independently (of her promotional websites) do anything about it.
Alexis Martin Neely gives million dollar advice for the price of a paperback! Finally a guide for parents that don't want to spend a year dwelling on what "might" happen! In 10 minutes I had my guardianship papers DONE! This book saved me a ton of headaches and got me on the right track in a fun and non depressing way.Alexis has a great, easy to read writing style that transforms complex subjects into everyday language. And her expertise shines throughout. I highly recommend this book to everyone who has kids and wants to make sure that they and you are protected.
Wow! Wear Clean Underwear: A Fast, Fun Friendly--and Essential--Guide to Legal Planning for Busy Parents lives up to its name. It's fast, fun, friendly - and absolutely essential information every parent needs to know. Although my son is grown, there are still elements I can put into place, and as a parent of two precious young ones of his own, you better believe I'm getting a copy of this book for him - and for my nieces and nephews who all have young families. This is a must read for all parents!
I wasn't as educated as I should have been on estate planning. This book was eye opening and very easy to follow. Highly recommend!
