I absolutely love this adult coloring book - it is by far my favorite one I have ever owned and it truly is a fun, relaxing experience to use it.I enjoy coloring, feeling tress free, and swearing. I like pretty things that include the F word. I like to chuckle at myself for being an adult who gets to use markers and colored pencils to illustrate my feelings and this book is top notch. The pictures are amazing, not overly intricate but detailed enough to produce fun images that are definitely fridge-worthy.Yesterday I had a "free day" for the first time in I do not remember how long - I slept until noon, did not change out of my PJs, and spend about two hours coloring on my couch while watching the Food Network channel. I purposefully chose the "Chores Can Go to Hell" image, because the irony made me giggle. The sink was full of dirty dishes, the living needs to be vacuumed yet I did not care one iota. I chose to color and let me tell you - yesterday was a beautiful day indeed.This coloring book (along with a chilled glass of wine!) is now my go-to stress reliever and I fully intend to "make life my bitch" - I am not going to let life make me feel so drained and stressed out. Instead - I will happily color my stresses away and smile the entire time while doing so!Kudos. Five stars. I will be purchasing the other books by John T. and I highly recommend his products. In this crazy, busy world - we all need a reminder to "make life our bitch" and do what makes us happy!
John T's books are just the best that are out there and I have purchased a few. He knows what it takes to make a coloring book and not just a collection of line art with sections too damn small to color. This is printed single side and I found it pretty easy to tear out a page and slip it under a co-workers door (they were having a bad day so I included some crayons that might or might not have been stolen from a fast food establishment.)His topics are funny and at times had me laughing out loud. These make great gifts and have gotten me to actually purchase my first set of 64 color crayons in a decade and my first set ever of smelly felt pens for the night version of his Fucksicles book (though I tested them out on free page from his swearwordcoloringbook.com website first.)When you take one of these to a meeting at work and start coloring, life becomes good...as long as you don't inhale the smelly pens for too long. Then people start to look at you.
I bought this for my niece turning 18 this month. I of course had to look through it as I love John Tommervik's work. I have no doubt she will love this book, the 30th cannot come soon enough! The sayings are great, and I think it's the perfect book for her, and all the coming life experiences she will be facing! Typical John Tommervik genius! I would highly recommend this book-I may even beg for one the pages I really liked, if she doesn't mind parting with it!
If you like positive and funny messages, tend to pepper your speech with colorful language and coloring is your thing buy this book. You won't be disappointed!I've had a hard time finding a sweary.... That's totally a word now... coloring book I actually liked.Most of the ones out there are just kind of blah.They just have random cuss words with some flowers or a random penguin or something similar.Then there are the motivational words books out there. I own several of them, but many of the quotes or phrases are too lame to be truly motivational.This book by John T blends bad words and motivation perfectly.The phrases are things like" yesterday you f*&^%ing said today" and "do epic s$%t".Stuff that actually does carry a motivational message with just a sprinkling of foul language for emphasis.As for the quality of the book itself I was very surprised, by how high the quality was for such a low price.The paper is pretty thick and has a good texture to it. Yes, markers like Sharpies will bleed through the page, but they don't seem to spread out much on the paper and bleed over the lines like I've had happen on lower quality paper.The binding is also done very well.The pages are one sided, which makes me insanely happy.I am so obsessed with this book that I got both the regular and midnight edition.The midnight edition has a few extra pages by the way, but most of them are exact duplicates of the pages in the regular book, just with a dark background added. There are one or 2 phrases that have been redrawn with slight differences, but if you aren't looking at them side by side you probably won't even notice. I like having both because sometimes I feel like doing an elaborate background. Other times I don't feel like taking on such a big project.The only thing keeping me from giving this a perfect 5 stars is that the pages are difficult to take out, because there's no perforated line and as I previously stated the binding is very solid, which yes is a good thing, but not when you're trying ti take pages out.But seriously that's one tiny nit picky thing in a sea of compliments. These books are awesome and I will be getting
