What a great book! As usual, Santiago Posteguillo is nowadays the best historic novelist when Rome history is the subject! This is my 7th Posteguillo’s book and I can not say which one is the best. Here Santiago tells a real history of one of the most powerful women of all times and not surprisedly unknown for the majority of people. History is written by men. Santiago did a great job to put Julia Domna on a place that she deserves, the “augusta†and real artifice of the last dynasty of roman emperors. I only hope that a new novel can be out soon! Thanks a lot Santiago, you are the best!!!!
Me ha gustado mucho este libro porque habla de una época que me fascina y a pesar de ser una novela hay una gran investigación histórica y eso la hace muy interesante,he leÃdo varios libros y biografÃas referentes al Imperio Romano y sus personajes importantes como Julio César,su sucesor Octavio,después llamado Augusto ,pero nunca una obra que destacará a una mujer,aparte de Cleopatra .Espero seguir leyendo libros que se refieran a esta época .Muy recomendable.
Por fin un historiador se ha tomado el tiempo de escrbrir sobre una mujer importante dentro de la historia romana y no solo como las maleficas envenenadoras ,una vez más Posteguillo nos nutre con unos de sus libros totalmente una trampa de papel,te atrapa y te Llena,Gracias Posteguillo, espero tu proximo libro con ansias, Anita Figueira Norwalk California
Posteguillo keeps delivering roma history with his own style, alas this means that the characters althought are from a different era are kind of the same that the books before, maybe Julia, a strong, powerful and beautiful woman is the surprise in his narrative of noble male heroes from old. If you still like his style, well it's no brainer, if is your first Posteguillo novel, you should know it is quite pleasant, like watching a mainstream hollywood film, but you may learn a thing or two from roman history
Saber que la mujer fue protagonista y por fin en este libro nos la muestra Postergillo, viendo a la vez parte de la historia de los romanos. Qué bueno que se resalte el poder de la mujer en la historia. Siete libros los mejores que he leido. Gracias
Meh. Con un objetivo polÃtico (tal vez propio de esta época en que los hombres inclinan la cerviz ante el movimiento Me Too), se narra una parte de la historia romana menos interesante que las de Anibal, Escipión o Trajano.
I have read "Escipión el Africano" series and the Trajano's trilogy. Those are a piece of art, however, I'm a little bit disappointed with "Yo Julia" because I found it very predictable. You can easily guess what's coming, maybe it's because I'm so used to Santiago Posteguillo writing style. I don't know, I like the book, but it was not my favorite by far.
